Atlantic Salmon recovery
Uniting conservation, science, and community
Role in this project: producer, videographer, editor, and photographer
Atlantic salmon are integral to Canada’s ecology, economy and culture, but wild populations have been declining for decades. To help turn the tide, Parks Canada is leading a recovery plan that includes an innovative approach called Smolt-to-Adult Supplementation. However, this conservation method couldn’t be executed or evaluated without collaboration from others.
In this video, we look to Clyburn Brook, located in Cape Breton Highlands National Park, where government, academia and local groups are working together to give endangered salmon a fighting chance.
